Our Story

iKT was founded on a simple but powerful idea: research should benefit people, not decades from now, but today. Every year, groundbreaking evidence is published, yet it can take 17 years or more for these practices to reach patients. During that time, people miss opportunities to receive the highest-quality care, and clinicians face barriers to making change within complex systems.

iKT was created to change that.

Our mission is to advance equitable, evidence-based care by helping clinicians and health systems implement evidence-based practices quickly, and by empowering people with disabilities with the knowledge they need to advocate for high-quality care.

Our vision is a world where clinicians and health systems are equipped to deliver equitable, evidence-based care, ensuring that people with disabilities have access to the high-quality care they deserve.

Accelerating Change

Traditional continuing education often focuses on delivering information, assuming that knowing the evidence is enough to change practice. But decades of research in implementation science and behavior change tell us otherwise. Real, sustainable change requires structured support, context-sensitive strategies, and partnerships that help teams overcome barriers and embed evidence into everyday care.

iKT was founded to fill this critical gap.

We combine evidence-informed frameworks, education and training, practical tools, mentoring, and community to help clinicians and organizations learn and implement evidence-based practices effectively and sustainably.

How We Work

We partner with clinicians, organizations, and health systems across the world to:

  • Provide education that’s grounded in evidence and delivered in flexible, accessible formats
  • Equip teams with tools, resources, and strategies to identify and overcome real-world barriers
  • Foster communities of practice that encourage shared learning and problem-solving
  • Support ongoing mentoring and capacity-building so teams can sustain and scale improvements over time

This approach transforms education from a one-time event into a catalyst for meaningful change, improving patient outcomes, increasing efficiency, and advancing equity in care.

A Shared Mission

While iKT began with a simple idea, to bring evidence to patients faster, it has grown into a global community of clinicians, researchers, leaders, and partners who share this commitment. Together, we are working to ensure that evidence reaches the people who need it most, when they need it and not decades later.
