IKT’s Clinical Implementation Programs are comprehensive, structured learning experiences that support clinicians in turning evidence into action. Each program combines high-quality education about evidence-based practices with practical strategies for integrating it into real-world care.

These programs are built using principles from Implementation Science to support lasting change, and not just knowledge acquisition. They help clinicians and organizations address common barriers to adoption, adapt practices thoughtfully, and sustain improvements in care.

What’s Included in a Clinical Implementation Program?

Evidence-Based Online Education

Self-paced, on-demand modules that teach the core clinical practice in a clear, applicable way. Content is grounded in current research and delivered in a way that reflects how the practice was designed, studied, and shown to be effective in the literature, so clinicians can implement it with confidence.

Includes:

  • Clinical rationale and evidence base
  • Practical application strategies
  • Case examples and video demonstrations
  • Tips for adapting to different patient populations or settings

Implementation Support & Strategy Guidance

Clinicians don’t just learn what to do, they learn how to do it in the clinical setting. Each program includes guidance on:

  • How to get started with the new practice
  • How to adapt it without losing effectiveness
  • How to build buy-in with colleagues and leadership
  • Common pitfalls and how to avoid them

Mentoring Opportunities

Live or recorded mentoring sessions offer direct access to experts and peers. Mentoring helps translate what’s learned in training into actual clinical decision-making.

These sessions allow for:

  • Questions and troubleshooting
  • Peer case sharing and discussion
  • Group reflection and learning
  • Ongoing encouragement to stay engaged

Implementation Toolkit

A practical set of tools to support planning and application. These tools are designed to reduce the burden of implementation and increase success. Examples of these items are included below.

  • Planning guides and checklists
  • Tools to support decision-making
  • Maximum heart rate and clinical prediction rule calculators
  • Equipment lists
  • Journal club reading list
  • Patient-facing education materials
  • Sample documentation and workflow suggestions
  • Communication scripts for team alignment

Community of Practice

Participants gain access to a supportive community of peers who are learning and implementing the same practices. This community helps foster long-term engagement, ongoing implementation support, and a sense of momentum. The community offers:

  • Ongoing learning beyond the course
  • Shared strategies and lessons learned
  • Encouragement and accountability
  • Research updates
  • Implementation support

iKT changed how our organization delivers care by helping us implement evidence-based practice more effectively across teams. A truly career-changing experience

iKT showed me that intensity is often the missing piece. Walk the Walk pairs current evidence with real-world expertise, giving me confidence to implement HIT in practice

Rachel Cox, Sutter Health, California

Walk the Walk was the most impactful education course that I’ve taken. It changed my practice immediately and influenced our PT and OT teams. Three years later, the improvements remain, enhancing patient outcomes and my confidence in applying research

Emily Thacker, Bellingham, WA

The Walk the Walk course strengthened my knowledge and skills in high-intensity gait training. I successfully implemented it in both my teaching and a pro bono clinic, where students now practice HIT weekly with individuals with neurologic conditions.

The online and hybrid format made it easy to participate in Walk the Walk. I could complete the self-study portions on my own time while still engaging with other clinicians to learn and ask questions. Despite a busy schedule, I gained a wealth of practical knowledge.

Exceeded my expectations—challenging, well-paced, and highly effective in a remote format.

This course provided evaluation and treatment strategies I hadn’t identified through my own literature reviews. Having the evidence presented this way was a tremendous time-saver and increased my confidence in practice.

The evaluation and treatment strategies especially for the sensory and autonomic systems was really helpful for me. This is not an area that I received much training in through PT school.

The balance of asynchronous and synchronous learning fit well into my busy life. The course strengthened my approach to evaluation and treatment of individuals with FND, prompting more in-depth functional and sensory assessment.

If your goal is to develop skills to be a leader of a KT team or to guide implementation of high level EBP at your facility, then this is the course for you. Prior to the course, I knew almost nothing about Knowledge Translation. Now, after completing it, I feel prepared to start leading implementation efforts at my workplace.
