Description

Our program is 12 months long and consists of didactic and clinical education, in addition to a teaching assistantship at Kettering College. Residents will receive 36 hours of clinical education each week at three Kettering Health (KH) sites: inpatient rehab at Hamilton, acute care at Main Campus, and outpatient neurologic and vestibular rehabilitation at the NeuroRehab and Balance Center. Mentorship is provided by 2 Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialists, an Advanced Vestibular Physical Therapist, and an acute care physical therapist with over 8 years of experience in acute neurologic PT. Residents’ didactic coursework is provided through the Institute for Knowledge Translation Neurologic Residency Curriculum, in addition to KH vestibular and concussion competencies. Further leadership and community service opportunities include assisting with neurologic support groups, teaching community-based exercise classes, attending a community event, attending a business meeting, and observing neurologic physicians across KH. ABPTRFE has granted Kettering Health Neurologic Residency candidacy status, which signifies satisfactory progress toward accreditation.
